ARCHETYPE/POTENTIAL ROLE
While many will see him as simply a play finishing and rim protecting big, which is absolutely a role he can thrive in, he has shown more nuance to his game throughout his junior season. Again, some may say that he is the same player he was in his sophomore year (which saw him enter the NBA Draft before returning to Dayton) but the stats will tell you that is not true and eye test even further validates that being incorrect. Not only has he expanded his shooting range beyond the 3-point line but has put his driving and passing ability on display in multiple games. He is an athletic, mobile big that can finish plays in PnR, offensive rebounds, transition, etc. but as he continues to develop his game he should offer a team even more. Defensively, he has taken things to another level as he is even more active and has learned to use his length to be more disruptive in ball screens and when helping. The improvement of his mentality to be dominant on the boards has shown through the second half of the season and should translate to the NBA. He will get docked by some for being 21 years old, in his junior season and playing in the A-10 conference.
